Marine Beaury and Jeff d’Hoe, from Team Envol Lauragais, will race ÖtillÖ Engadin on 26th go July. Read about their preparation and expectations for the second World Series of the year.
Unfortunately due to covid19, their preparation was interrupted on March 15. Swimming pools were closed and reopen gradually since July 1st. Impossible to swim in the lake until 2nd of June.
They had obligation to run only 1 hour within a radius of 1km around our home knowing that access to the canal and forest was prohibited, they were able to run only in our housing estate like a fish in a jar!
Fortunately, they have a swimming pool which allowed us to work on a little technique with the elastic.
They have been able to do some decent preparation for Engadin only since June 1, which is quite short for a world series … For 4 weeks they have been doing a series of mountain trips, to try to make up for lost time. The preparation was quite intense.
Jeff will do his first World Series with an experienced swimrunner: Benoît Charrier. The goal is to have fun with his partner who has a lot of experience in the swimrun. He aims to pass the finish line of this race. At the level of fears, Jeff is very apprehensive about the temperature of the lakes because he has great difficulty in being effective swimming in cold water. But he is a strong trail runner and he likes altitude.
Marine will take the start with Laurence Marx for their first race together. They have done many training camps together but no competitions. Laurence is used to the world series …Marine will do her second series after Malta in 2019. During the training sessions, the pair worked very well because they are very different but very complementary … Laurence comes from swimming and Marine from running so they can help each other on each of our disciplines during a swimrun. They are therefore waiting to see the result of this pairing on a world series. The goal is to qualify for ÖtillÖ WC. For Marine, her fear is the lack of training so she really hopes to race this series well and not be in pain for hours…
