Eliud Kipchoge, Kilian Jornet and now Team Envol! COROS go with the winners! The truth is that they are genuinely interested in swimrun and to become the gps watch of choice for swimrunners. And this is where we come in. We started by letting three swimrunners – Sabina Rapelli, Marcus Barton and Nicolas Remires try the COROS pace 2. The Q&A below is their initial feedback.
Easy to set up?
Sabina: Yes, I found it very simple and practical. I have already tried to create my personal running training in the app COROS and upload them to the watch. It is very simple and like Garmin.
Marcus: Easy for initial setup, but I couldn’t easily figure out how to get the Training Peaks workouts sync’d to the watch. It was easy to connect to Training Peaks, but I had to find a youtube video on how to get the workouts to sync.
Nicolas: It is simple to start and get the initial settings all set for the first activities. It was a bit trickier to get the connection with Training Peaks.
Navigation of display?
Sabina: The navigation is very practical. Very simple to change sport and go in the settings.
Marcus: Very easy to navigate the display.
Nicolas: The navigation is simple and direct with only 2 buttons.
What about the COROS app?
Sabina: I had no problems to connect Coros to the app. Just go in the settings of the app Coros on the phone and you can add the app you desire connected to the watch.
Marcus: Lots of good information and much better than other watch apps I’ve seen, with the exception of getting Training Peaks workout schedule sync’d.
Nicolas:The App has all the functionalities and when everything is well set in the App, it is transferred to the watch. It is also simple to connect to 3rd parties like Training Peaks and Strava.
Feel on the arm?
Sabina: Is very light, I like it!
Marcus: Very light and comfortable.
Nicolas: It is a great feel on the arm and it is well attached with the bracelet.
Battery life?
Sabina: For the moment (I use it for five days, for two training par day and he lost the 50% of the battery). I think is good!
Marcus: Haven’t ran it dead yet. Seems to have a very good battery life.
Nicolas: It’s amazing. I charged it only once and I used it for 10 days non stop. Almost 200km of running and other swimming activities, plus all the time playing with it. I still have 23% of battery!
Biggest difference from previous watch?
Sabina: The weight is very light compared others watch I used before. That’s very good especially for the swim. You didn’t feel it on your arms. Struggling a bit to set my swim exercises. The gps is more precise compared to my previous Garmin!
Marcus: Lighter on the arm. I didn’t use it for swimming yet. I expect it to be different than the Suunto when it comes to tracking laps, sets and rest time.
Nicolas: I like that there are only 2 buttons. Nice fit on the arm. Light. I miss the mapping on the Pace 2. That’s a function that I use a lot for coaching and guiding groups.
