Envol Swimrun is excited to announce that in 2025, we are expanding our swimrun-specific training offerings to include a Startline Ready training group aimed at chasing big PBs in the marathon!
We already have the general training plans for only trail running or open water swimming. This is different. This is a group with a dedicated coach and a specific goal.
While many of our members are focused on swimrun as a passion and inspiration for racing challenges, most of us belong to the larger and just as passionate global community of runners. To that end, we would like to offer both our existing members and anyone else that would like to join the opportunity to be part of a dedicated, yearlong marathon training group led by expert marathon coach, Max Frankel.
Max will be preparing athletes in the group for marathons in Q4 of 2025 with an approach grounded in training a base of speed earlier in the year to build marathon strength on top of in the later part of the year. Many of our Team Envol members may be familiar with hearing about this approach from Envol swimrun coach Tom Jenkinson, or may have heard about it gaining recent traction with mainstream experts such as Steve Magness and David Roche.
Max has been preaching the benefits of training runners to be more efficient and athletic for long distance racing via laying a strong speed foundation for years, coaching multiple athletes to sub-2:20 marathon PBs, top 10 finishes at UTMB events and qualifiers for Ironman 70.3 and 140.6 World Championships.
The group’s training will be designed around frequent built-in cross training options for our multisport athletes, as well as a pure run program for others.
Tune in to the first coach-led webinar on February 4th to meet Coach Max and answer your questions!
