The training plan has detailed sessions of running, swimming and swimrun. There are also a number of strength sessions in the weekly schedule.

Azores Islands Swimrun marks the beginning of the 2022 season of the Circuit Swimrun PT, recovering the good memories of the 1st edition of 2020 in Azorean territory, more specifically on the island of S. Miguel.

The island of S. Miguel has, in its official network, a total of 80 walking routes that account for a total length of more than 800 km. Taking advantage of the mild climate throughout the year, it is undoubtedly a unique destination for nature sports at any time of year. 

The competition will take place in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, the 1st capital of the island of São Miguel, well known for its natural beauty, with the main attraction being the departure from the islet of Vila Franca do Campo.
Located in front of the village of Vila Franca do Campo, about 1 km from the coast, this place is the result of the crater of an ancient submerged volcano, considered one of the main tourist attractions on the island of São Miguel, especially since the stage was completed. from the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Circuit – the world cliff diving championship.

The remaining route includes several incursions on stunning trails that surround the entire slope, including the trail of the 4 Fábricas da Luz passing through the Cascata do Segredo and also incursions and crossings on the beaches of Pedreira and Água d'Alto.
