SwimRun Lake James is a new American race added as a merit race for Ötillö. Envol has prepared for you a specific training plan for the long course of SwimRun Lake James.

It is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and offers rolling terrain with beautiful lake waters.

Will this be your first race of the year? To make sure you will be in top shape on race day, we suggest you get started with a good training plan. And stick to it.

 

Below is the race organizer’s description:

The Long Course will consist of teams of 2 tackling about 4 miles (6,5 km) of swimming and 15 (24 km) miles of running. The course will have 14 run sections and 13 swim sections.   The swim sections range from 20yds (18 m) to 1300yds (1200 m) in a unique and picturesque lake setting.  The run sections range from 25 meters to 7.5 miles (12 km).  The runs are made up of fire service trail roads, single track trails, paved roads, and off the beaten path wooded sections. All of which will be well marked.

A Short Course will consist of teams of 2 tackling about 2.7 miles of swimming and 10 miles of running. The course will have 8 run sections and 7 swim sections.   The swim sections range from 20yds to 1300yds in a unique and picturesque lake setting.  The run sections range from 25 meters to 5.5 miles.  The runs are made up of fire service trail roads, single track trails, paved roads, and off the beaten path wooded sections. All of which will be well marked.

All athletes/teams will start and finish at the Fonta Flora Whippoorwill Farm.  The Farm will host all race activities before, during, and after the event.  We will have several smaller tents setup around the property for additional shelter.  Stick around for food and yummy craft beer 🙂
