SwimRun Lake James is a new American race added as a merit race for Ötillö. It’s located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and offers rolling terrain with beautiful lake waters.

This is  how the race organisers describe the course:

The Long Course will consist of teams of 2 tackling about 4 miles (6,5 km) of swimming and 15 miles (24 km) of running. The course will have 14 run sections and 13 swim sections. The swim sections range from 20 yds (18 m) to 1300 yds (1200 m) in a unique and picturesque lake setting. The run sections range from 25 meters to 7.5 miles (12 km). The runs are made up of fire service trail roads, single track trails, paved roads, and off the beaten path wooded sections, all of which will be well marked.

All athletes/teams will start and finish at the Fonta Flora Whippoorwill Farm. The Farm will host all race activities before, during, and after the event. We will have several smaller tents set up around the property for additional shelter. Stick around for food and yummy craft beer 🙂
